Our Farming Model
At Good Food Farmers, we are farmers first. When you shop with us, your purchases directly support a network of small-scale, beginning, and seasoned growers who share a commitment to growing and producing food with care—without pesticides, synthetic fertilizers, or genetically modified organisms, and with the highest standards of animal welfare and environmental stewardship.
Collaborative Crop Planning
Each year begins with a collaborative crop plan—a shared framework that outlines which farms will supply which items each week. This plan provides farms with income expectations to guide decisions around labor, equipment, and production. It’s flexible by design, evolving with the weather and harvest realities of the season, but rooted in mutual commitment: no farm is left out to dry.
Weekly Harvest Coordination
Every week, farms and food producers in the network submit a list of what’s available and what’s coming soon. Our team uses this information to build the Farmer’s Choice default boxes and update the online store. Once member orders are in and the online store closes for the week, we place final orders with our partner farms. Each farm then harvests and delivers to our pack site in Chatham, NY, where our pack crew carefully packs each custom order and our delivery team delivers to members the very next day.
